Orphanage information
The Songxi Social Welfare Institute is in the northern mountainous part of Fujian Province near the border with Zhejiang Province. Since 1995 there have been only three international adoptions from this orphanage. The SWI was originally built in 1980, and most of its residents are elderly people or handicapped soldiers.
