The Heart Surgery Fund

The children left behind in orphanages are truly left behind. After the age of 2 or 3 years, they have virtually no chance of being adopted, and their welfare depends entirely on the limited support provided by the Chinese government and occasional humanitarian gestures by local citizens or international charitable groups.

FujianKids is working hard to make a difference in the lives of these children. Among other services, we pay for surgeries the orphanages can't afford. We have often been successful in raising money for routine surgeries, but it is more difficult to find donors for life-saving but expensive procedures such as heart surgery. Unfortunately, without the necessary surgery many of the orphanage children with congenital heart defects will die or live severely curtailed lives.

In appreciation for those who help the orphanage and to encourage contributions to the FujianKids heart surgery fund, some of the special needs children at the Fuzhou orphanage have made origami cranes and other decorations.

Won't you please help? There are several children in the the Fuzhou orphanage and other orphanages in dire need of heart surgery.
