Orphanage Special Education Programs

FujianKids has two special education programs in orphanages. Children in these programs cannot attend public school because of disability or special medical conditions. Because of the limited resources in orphanages, these children had been unable to receive even the most basic education prior to the establishment of these classrooms financed by FujianKids.

These classes are supported through sponsors who contribute $10 or more a month to cover the teacher's salary, school supplies, and the cost of occasional educational outings. Sponsors receive updates about class activities twice a year.
Please contact us if you would like to sponsor one of the classes described below. We are in urgent need of sponsors so we can continue these programs. You can help with as little as $10 per month. Or you can make a one-time donation here.

Fuzhou Classroom for Hearing Impaired Children

Before FujianKids funded this classroom, the hearing impaired children at the Fuzhou orphanage weren't able to get an education and didn't know how to sign. Their teacher, Ms. Jin, is an experienced educator of the deaf. Students in this class have learned to read, write, and sign, study math and other academic subjects, and receive training in career and life skills.

Nanping Classroom for Special Needs Children and Young Adults

Our classroom at the Nanping orphanage allows children with cerebral palsy, mental impairments, or other disabilities to learn to the best of their ability and provides them with training in life skills. Ms. Huang, their dedicated instructor, has taught her students self-respect, responsibility, and a sense of community, in addition to basic education. She has also introduced sports to her students, and these active and eager kids now enjoy ping pong, basketball, and other activities.
