FujianKids has two education programs. One is for orphanage children who need special education. The other is for impoverished rural children who have lost one or both parents and who could not attend school without financial assistance.

Orphanage Special Education

At the Fuzhou orphanage, FujianKids has established a classroom for children with hearing impairments. Their teacher, Ms. Jin, is an experienced educator of the deaf. Students in this class have for the first time learned to read, write, and sign. They also learn math and other academic subjects and receive training in life skills. .

Our classroom at the Nanping orphanage allows children with cerebral palsy or mental impairments to learn to the best of their ability and provides them with training in life skills. Ms. Huang, their dedicated instructor, has taught her students self-respect, responsibility, and a sense of community, in addition to basic education. She has also introduced sports to her students, and these active and eager kids now enjoy ping pong, basketball, and other activities.

Many families in remote areas of northeastern Fujian Province live in extreme poverty, and when a parent dies or becomes disabled, their children often can no longer attend school. FujianKids sponsors impoverished orphaned children in this area so they can get an education. Without an education, these children are destined for a life of relentless poverty.
